Burn ban issued in Young County

YOUNG COUNTY (KFDX/KJTL) — A burn ban is in effect for the next 90 days for residents of Young County.

According to a Facebook post from Win Graham, Young County Judge, on Monday, July 8, 2024, Young County has been placed under a burn ban for 90 days or until lifted by the Young County Commissioners.

According to the order, the use of combustible materials in an outdoor environment by any person is prohibited. This includes fireworks, discarded cigarettes, or other flammable materials that could result in a wildfire.

The order prohibiting outdoor burning was adopted on July 8, 2024, and persons found to be in violation of the order may be arrested and fined up to $500.
