Cyclist in Wichita Falls hit by vehicle, hospitalized

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — One man is hospitalized after he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle on Tuesday afternoon in Wichita Falls.

Officers with the Wichita Falls Police Department responded to the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Pecan Street at around 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, for reports of a cyclist being hit by a car.

According to our crew at the scene, officers said they discovered a cyclist on the scene that had been struck by a vehicle.

Officers at the scene said a man was riding his bicycle when a vehicle turned onto Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard from Pecan Street and hit the cyclist.

According to authorities, the cyclist was transported to the hospital by AMR with what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers said charges will not be filed against the driver of the vehicle since the collision is believed to be an accident at this time.
