According to WFPD Sgt. Charlie Eipper, the suspect fired multiple shots into the victim's apartment and then fled the scene in a Mercury Sedan.

The victim told police the suspect, 23-year-old Datorian Mathis, was angry with her refusal to speak to him upon his arrival at her apartment. She said Mathis was from Dallas and was probably going to return there.

WFPD issued a lookout warning for Mathis and his car. Clay County deputies arrested him on charges of evading arrest and criminal mischief after a short chase with a suspect that matched Mathis' description.

The WFPD Crimes Against Persons Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Mathis on charges of deadly conduct. The warrant was served, though, at the time of this article's publication, he is still in the Clay County Jail.

Mathis has warrants from Dallas for assault of a pregnant person and child endangerment. His bond is set at $100,000.
