Man charged with sexual assault of prohibited person

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — A Wichita Falls man has been jailed on a $100,000 bond on a charge of sexual assault of a person with whom he is prohibited from marrying or living.

Nicholas Bryson Perez, 22, was booked into jail on Saturday, March 23, 2024, on charges in an indictment filed on March 20, 2024.

The indictment stated that Perez, on or about March 2, 2019, performed a sex act with a female who was younger than 17, and was a person the defendant has been prohibited from marrying or purporting to marry and prohibited from living with under the appearance of being married.

The victim filed a protective order against Perez with the 78th District Court in January of last year, according to court documents.

The offense is a second-degree felony punishable by 2 years to 20 years in prison.
