The Nursing Apprentice Program is the first Texas program registered with the Department of Labor and the Texas Workforce Commission, according to United Regional officials.

Prospective RNs and LVNs enrolled in the program complete their clinical hours with supplementary training under seasoned mentors in various departments such as the emergency department, primary care, intensive care and PCU.

This program offers benefits such as earning wages while in school, fostering meaningful relationships with healthcare professionals, and receiving additional clinical training.

Additionally, students learn critical skills like time management, prioritization, and critical thinking to enhance students’ readiness for the demands of nursing, officials stated.

"We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of our first group of nursing apprentices," Andrea Anderle, Director of Clinical Education at United Regional said. "Their dedication and hard work have been truly inspiring, and we are confident that they will continue to make meaningful contributions to the healthcare community."
